Carla Rowe

Congrats Carla and Oonagh All Ireland Champions!   23/06/2015

Sunday the 21st of June will be a day long remembered within Clann Mhuire.

It was a day where not only did we have 2 Ladies on the Dublin U21 team who defeated Cork in the Aisling McGinn Final but our very own Carla Rowe was Captain.

A large crowd travelled from the Naul to show their support for the girls.
Carla and Oonagh both played their parts in a thrilling encounter with the Rebelettes in Nenagh. Carla contributed 6 points and Oonagh 2 points to the Dubs final score of 14 points to 1-8.

A pulsating end where the Cork Ladies smashed the ball of the cross bar ensured there were scenes of immense joy at the final whistle for the Jackies who so many times have experienced agonising defeats against the ladies from the River Lee.

Captain Carla climbed the steps in McDonagh Park not just to collect the Aisling McGinn cup but also to receive the Player of the Match for the 2nd year in a row.

While the girls celebrated the victory on the journey home from Tipperary there 1st stop off was to the small but extremely proud village of Naul. A great turn out showed up to acknowledge our own 2 girls and the Dublin Ladies and to show the pride that was felt in the parish. It was great to have Dublin County Board Chairman and our very own Joe Keane on hand to introduce the Ladies to the crowd. For a Cork man the smile on his face and his words of admiration towards the Dublin Ladies showed his love and passion for his new adoptive county.

A big thank you must go to Sean Paul of the Seamus Ennis Centre who let us use the stage to welcome the Ladies back to the Village. We must also thank Killian's of Naul who filled the cup for the Ladies to help them celebrate this great success.

Last but not least to the Ladies of the Dublin U'21 All Ireland Champions a massive congrats and a Big Thank You for taking time out to speak to all the young people who showed up and take photos and sign autographs. You are a credit to your Clubs and Families. You have inspired the next generation of talent from Naul.

To Carla and Oonagh, not only are Clann Mhuire so proud of your achievements but the whole village is. You 2 Ladies are Local heroes and deserve all the recongition, congrualtions and praise that you will receive over the coming days, weeks, months and years. Enjoy the celebrations that you so richly deserve.
